Once Long Ago

Once Long Ago is a collection of three folk tales arranged for Orff Schulwerk classes. Appropriate for 4th-6th grade, the collection includes "WHY THE SUN AND MOON LIVE IN THE SKY," from Nigeria, "THE STONE CUTTER," from Japan, and "THE CAT AND THE RAT," from the West Indies. Suggestions for staging, props, and costumes are included.

A few words from Randy & Jeff...

Carol Huffman (AOSA President) invited us to present at the 1987 National AOSA Conference in Chicago, Illinois and the idea of sharing a folk tale became the focus of that session. A trip to Jamaica exposed us to musical traditions and customs that influenced The Cat and the Rat, the tale from the West Indies.
